Relocating to Bullhead City Az

State-of-the-art hospitals, out-patient facilities, urgent care options and ancillary providers are complimented by a wide-range of specialists. The newest technologies and modern facilities make the Colorado River valley a great please to live for people of all ages.

Western Arizona Regional Medical Center – Bullhead City
The opening of a hospital in Bullhead City came from a vision set forth by a group of community leaders known as the Colorado River Valley Community Hospital Association back in the early 1980s. By January 23, 1984, their vision materialized into 36-bed Bullhead Community Hospital that opened to meet the growing healthcare needs of the residents of the area. It didn’t take long for the hospital to double its size in 1988, and it was again expanded a decade later to 98 beds when it also took on a new name: Western Arizona Regional Medical Center (WARMC). Today, 23 years later, the 143-bed hospital continues to grow, change, add technology and prepare for the future.

Improving the quality of life in the region is a commitment WARMC embraces. Its employees, physicians and volunteers donate thousands of dollars and hours of volunteer time to improvement projects, charitable organizations and schools to help make a difference. Keeping up with technology and advancements in services is another key to WARMC’s growth. Over the years, the hospital has opened a new Cardiovascular Lab, Medical Unit, Surgical Unit, Critical Care Unit, Outpatient Center and added two new CT scanners, MRI, and other technology.

WARMC knows it’s important to have qualified physicians serving our communities. Over the years, WARMC has recruited physicians to compliment the growth of the area and the shortage in many medical specialties. WARMC boasts a qualified medical staff and will continue bringing new physicians to the area. The hospital is located at 2735 Silver Creek Road
Bullhead City, AZ 86442.

In 2006, WARMC expanded to a 143-bed hospital and growth is continuing. The area’s largest Emergency Department, a new Intensive Care Unit were opened as well as an ambulatory surgery center. Plans for 2007 call for the opening of an Open MRI and a second cardiac catheterization lab. For more information, call (928) 704-6721 or visit www.warmc.com.

Valley View Medical Center – Fort Mojave

Valley View Medical Center is the Bullhead City/Laughlin area's newest hospital. It is a full-service, state-of-the-art medical campus with an around-the-clock emergency room, including an on-site air ambulance helicopter.

A 24-bed expansion opening in the fall of 2010 will make Valley View a 90-bed hospital. Each is in a private room equipped with cable television, including a special channel with patient information and tips.

Most major private and public insurance programs are accepted. No one is ever turned away based on ability to pay.

The expansion will also include a new secure, state-of-the-art pediatric unit with six patient rooms, a play room and an isolation room.

Valley View has six surgical units and a 12-bed outpatient care unit. A 12-bed critical care unit provides a wide range of life supporting therapies for critically ill patients. Spacious labor and delivery suites are more like hotel rooms than hospital rooms, and each features a fold-down bed so that a family member can comfortably spend the night.

The inpatient and outpatient radiology and imaging center has 4D ultrasound, 16-slice CT-Scan, 1.5 Tesla MRI and nuclear medicine programs that are the envy of big city hospitals. The expanded 12-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit provides a full range of physical, occupational and speech therapy services, including a whirlpool and outdoor therapy courtyard. The outpatient rehab complex adjacent to the hospital even includes a fitness pool for aquatic therapy.

Valley View is just south of Bullhead City and is a short distance from both Laughlin, Nevada and Needles, California. It is approximately two miles from the point where Arizona, California and Nevada come together. The hospital is located at 5330 S. Highway 95 in Fort Mohave. Additional information is available at 928-788-CARE (2273), toll-free at 800-371-2520, or online at www.valleyviewmedicalcenter.net. Employment opportunities are also posted online.
